Tree design

Today in class Sarah and I started making our tree which is the main feature of our resort. We got ideas of the movie Avatar for the tree design as it being really large and spread out across the area we have to make it look unique. next lesson we are going to start making our small huts out of paddle pops and attach them to our tree.

Jungle resort

Today Mr Ward taught us how to use Plaster of Paris to make mountains and rivers. He used scrunched up newspaper and chicken wire to make the base and staple it down. Then he used the plaster to mould over the top of it and smooth it down. He then showed us how to clean it up properly and make it look really good and realistic. This will be very useful as Sarah and I are going to use this in our resort model as we are making a waterfall. 

This week Mr Ward has been showing us different ways to build our resort, He has shown us how to ground the wood to make pools and ponds. I had a go and it was more difficult than i though it would be but i got the hang of it.

DF Time Management Timetable

First lesson year 10

This term we are starting the year making model resorts with a partner. Sarah and I have already thought of heaps of good ideas that we would like to use. I am very excited to start this new unit of work because i think it will be fun and I will get to use my imagination more is creating this project. Sarah and I have put together ideas of making a earth friendly jungle resort which should be a lot of fun to make.

This is the lady and her arms

The past couple of weeks in DF i have been working on my mechanism which has been a lot of fun. I have done a lot on my toy but there is still a lot I need to finish to comlete my project. I have finished the box and cutting out the ladt and her arms. I still need to cut out the flowers to go around the box and put it altogether and make it move. in last weeks class i cut the arms out but then realised they were too short and would not work so i had to redraw and cut out new ones the would work. this lesson and for homework i will be working on completing my written assignment. after i have finished putting together my toy i then, if i have enough time, paint it and decorate it.

This term in Design Futures we are doing a unit on the computers using Pro Desktop were we are free to create different designs. each lesson we have been experimenting and learning new different things that help us to make 3D objects such as vases which we have been focusing one because this is our assignment project. Mr Ward has been very helpful in teaching me all different techniques on how to make objects bigger, smaller and to scale. Our last lesson i have been working on the written part of the assignment as i have already created my design for my vase. next lesson i have to continue my written task and continue the bag tags we have just started to design.
